What is a QB Check

The QbTest is an objective testing system that simultaneously measures attention, impulsivity and motor activity, key indicators in helping formulate a diagnosis of ADHD. The results obtained by the test may be used to help form a better understanding of any cognitive and behavioural difficulties. The QbTest helps cut through ambiguous information and strip away human error.

The QbTest is not a diagnosis, it is a sophisticated screening tool which is used to support a diagnosis. Only a trained clinician can diagnose. The QbTest is recognised by health professionals and is used to give the consultants greater confidence when diagnosing as it is very accurate.

Types of QbTest Available

There are two versions of the QbTest, tailored to different age groups:

15-Minute Test
Designed for children aged 6 to 12, this test presents two symbols on the screen one at a time. These symbols are either a plain circle or a circle with a cross in the centre. The task is to click only when the plain circle appears and not when the circle with a cross appears. The participant is required to respond approximately 50% of the time. The test is fast-paced and uses a randomised sequence to maintain attention and challenge impulsivity.

20-Minute Test
Designed for individuals aged 12 to 60, this version involves four symbols shown one at a time: a red square, a red circle, a blue square, and a blue circle. The task is to click only when the exact same shape and colour is repeated consecutively. The participant is expected to click around 25% of the time. This version is also randomised and designed to maintain a quick and engaging pace.
